Amera’s Palace one of the most well respected Belly Dance programs in the Southern Hemisphere will be bringing their classes to the Sports Centre. Belly Dance is not only fun, it’s a great form of exercise. Belly Dance tones the arms, strengthens abs and tightens the obliques. Participants will be taught basic technique, travelling steps, how to turn, interpretation of the music and choreography. ![]() | 29th July 2009 Rollers World Challenge 29 July to 1 August Wheelchair Basketball has developed worldwide and was introduced to the Paralympic Programme in Rome in 1960. It is one of the most popular sports in the Paralympic Games. It is designed for athletes who have a physical disability that prevents running, jumping and pivoting. The Rollers - The Rollers are Australia's National Men's Wheelchair Basketball Team. They are the reigning Paralympic Gold Medallists after defeating Canada 72-60 at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games. The Rollers finished with a Silver medal at the Athens Paralympic Games. The Event - The Rollers World Challenge will feature the three medal teams from the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games, Australia (1st), Canada (2nd), Great Britain (3rd) and the event will also welcome Japan who finished 5th at the games. Athletes to watch - Dylan Alcott (VIC), Justin Eveson (WA), Tige Simmons (QLD) and Tristan Knowles (NSW). Canada boasts one of the best players in the world in Patrick Anderson who has played in Australia in the Australian National League. |
