Arena
With a total of 3854 fixed and retractable seats the main arena is the focal point of the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. An additional 1152 portable seats can be accommodated on the floor level. The overall floor area measures 57 by 38 metres with a clear working height of 12.5 metres.
On level 1 there are eight group change rooms and separate change areas for referees, officials and special guests. Also on level 1 is a marshalling or backstage area with easy access to the loading dock.
Above the concourse are three media boxes, and the centre boasts a good range of in-house video production equipment suitable for displaying images on the two giant LED screens that can be moved around the venue as required. Catwalk access to the roof area is provided. The arena is fitted with an international standard sports lighting system as well as dimmable house lights for concerts and conferences. Three-phase power outlets are conveniently located on level 1 and also on the catwalk.
The Arena can be divided with drop curtains to enable multi use for competition or training or to operate in reduced mode. The polished wooden sprung floor is designed for active sports while adding a touch of class to dinners and corporate functions.
The Box Office is located on Level 3 near the main spectator entry, giving spectators easy access to the seating area.
Free parking for VIP's and participants is available in the adjacent parking area while spectators can park in one of three nearby parking stations for a modest hourly charge.
Averaging some ninety events a year the main arena is one of Sydney Olympic Park's most popular venues.
